Submission to the Residential Tenancies Regulations review
The Latrobe Valley Asbestos Taskforce has made a submission calling for asbestos assessments to be undertaken prior to renters entering into a rental agreement.
The proposed regulations state that a rental applicant ought to be advised if an asbestos assessment had been previously undertaken on the rental property.
The taskforce submitted that anyone preparing to rent a property ought to be advised if asbestos is present, the exact location of the asbestos, the condition of the asbestos and disturbance risk potential.
